Debbie King- Immediate Past Chair
Debbie has been teaching healthcare science for 15 years. She has taught at West Hall High School until this year. This year she is helping create the Hall County Virtual School. She is starting the virtual healthcare science program for both the high school and middle school.
She has a degree in nursing from Loma Linda University and a Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education from Valdosta University. As a registered nurse she worked in pediatric and neonatal ICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and University of California Medical Center. Debbie has worked as a HOSA board member since 2019. She has worked for 5 years on the HOSA Competitive Events team. She has been married for 33 years and has 4 adult children and 2 daughter in laws. She is involved with Special Olympics, teaching preschool Sunday School and is working toward her specialist in Instructional Technology at VSU.
Casey Fleury- Chair
Casey Fleury has more than 8 years of experience teaching Healthcare Science and as a HOSA advisor with the last 5 years at Johnson High School in Hall County. Prior to her career change into teaching, Casey worked as a cardiac nurse at Piedmont Hospital. Casey frequently seeks opportunities to advance her career by becoming certified in multiple technologies, including Nearpod, Kami, Quizizz, and more. Casey was awarded HSTEA New Teacher of the Year in 2017 and took part in the inaugural Lead CTAE class in 2017-2018. Casey is passionate about mentoring new teachers because confident teachers provide a phenomenal learning experience for the students that we serve.
Felisha Wagner- Chair-Elect
Felisha is in her 3rd year teaching Healthcare Science at Newton College and Career Academy in Covington. She teaches Essentials of Healthcare and Sports Medicine. Felisha is also in her 3rd year serving as a HOSA co-advisor for the school’s chapter.
Felisha is originally from Michigan but has been living in Georgia since August 2014. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University. Before becoming a teacher, she worked for six years as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the secondary school setting. Felisha is currently working toward her Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Georgia and will be graduating in May 2023. This is her first year serving on the HOSA Board of Directors. In her free time, Felisha enjoys watching sports, playing board games, and cooking. Felisha currently lives in Covington with her husband Bradley. They are expecting their first child in February 2023.
Jessica Kirby- Secretary
Jessica Kirby is the HOSA Advisor at Grovetown High School where she teaches Healthcare Science. Jessica is an Original Warrior because she has been at Grovetown since it opened in 2009, first as the Athletic Trainer and now as a Teacher.
Before she began her teaching career, Jessica worked as an Athletic Trainer for 9 years, first for Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN and then for Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA providing outreach services to local high schools.
Ms. Kirby received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Master of Education in Administration & Supervision of Higher Education from Middle Tennessee State University.
Jessica’s favorite hobbies include running, reading, napping, and spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, and dog.

Megan King- region 2 Advisor
Megan King is a certified athletic trainer that teaches Healthcare Science at Etowah High School in Woodstock. She has been teaching there since 2016 and serving as a HOSA advisor since the chapter’s inception. Before beginning her teaching career, Megan worked as a certified athletic trainer in the secondary school setting. At the 2020 State Leadership Conference, she was named HOSA Advisor of the Year. Megan resides in Cherokee County with her husband, two children, and two dogs.
Tracy Floyd- region 3 Advisor
Region 3 will represent Forsyth County.
Michael Barber- region 4 Advisor
Micheal Barber is a health education professional who has served in a variety of health and wellness professions. Micheal has a bachelor’s degree in social work, masters in health education, as well as an education specialist in workforce education. Currently, Micheal teaches Healthcare Sciences at Northview High School in Johns Creek, GA and started the public health pathway at NHS and serves at the HOSA co-advisor. In addition to high school, he also serves as an adjunct faculty at Georgia Gwinnett College. He has also been a a fitness coach since 2015, teaching indoor cycling, bootcamps, boxing and a variety of other class formats. Throughout his career, he has worked in multiple inpatient mental health facilities serving a variety of patient populations. He has also worked as an HIV & STD testing specialist, HIV prevention and education coordinator, and a Health Educator for HIV treatment and prevention clinical research trials. He now uses his experience in mental health, fitness, and health education to expose his students to the many facets of healthcare and the variety of career opportunities in the healthcare sector.

Maegan Story- Region 9
Maegan has been married for 12 years and has 3 children. She has been teaching healthcare for 5 years at Eighth Street Middle School in Tifton! She teaches 6th and 7th grade, as well as Intro to Healthcare to 8th grade.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and worked in the ICU all throughout nursing school and for four years as a nurse. She stayed at home for a few years with her three children, and was then offered a position as the school nurse where she currently works. Maegan wanted to offer more of her knowledge and skillset, so once this teaching position was created, she applied and hasn’t looked back. She also has a Master’s degree in Adult and Career education and a Specialist’s degree in Teacher Leadership, all from Valdosta State University.
This is her first year serving on the HOSA Board and she hopes to be a great addition by providing a voice for middle school.
Lucas Hernandez- alumni- at- large
Lucas Hernandez’s journey through Ga HOSA spans over a decade. His commitment to HOSA started in 2010 when he served on the board of West Hall High School’s HOSA chapter. Notably, he showcased his skills on a larger stage, competing in CPR and First Aid at both the state and national leadership conferences.
After graduating high school, he moved on to the University of North Georgia. Lucas continued his engagement in the healthcare field through the school’s post-secondary HOSA chapter. During his time at the University of North Georgia, he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
His professional journey started in the Intensive Care Unit at Northside Hospital Forsyth, where he spent five years as a dedicated bedside nurse. In the summer of 2022, Lucas transitioned into the role of Clinical Supervisor in the ICU. Lucas not only remains actively involved in providing care to critically ill patients, showcasing his leadership and expertise in the field, but he also navigates the administrative aspects of healthcare.
His recent appointment to the Board of Directors as the Alumni representative speaks to his commitment within the healthcare community. Lucas’s passion for healthcare extends beyond his career; he actively seeks to inspire and represent the potential of future healthcare professionals.
His dedication to mentoring and guiding the youth entering the healthcare profession post-graduation reflects a genuine commitment to shaping the future of healthcare.
Lucas finds joy in family moments, sharing his time with his wife and two children. As a true outdoors enthusiast, he gravitates towards activities that connect him with nature during his leisure time.
Caroline Aultman- business and industry representative
Caroline Aultman has served as Executive Director for Blue Ridge AHEC since 2018, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience leading healthcare strategy and operations. Prior to joining the team at Blue Ridge AHEC, Caroline served as the Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for WellStar Health System, the Southeast’s largest not-for-profit health system.
Caroline currently serves on the Georgia Rural Health Association Board of Directors, the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University’s Advisory Board for Community Outreach an Engagement, the Georgia HOSA Board of Directors, and the Advisory Committee for the Medical College Of Georgia - Northwest Campus.
Caroline earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech, where she served on the President’s National Advisory Board. In addition, she holds dual master’s degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from Georgia State University.
Sandra Martin- department of education: program specialist
Sandra has over 24 years of experience in the classroom in which the last 10 years were at Locust Grove High School teaching the Allied Health & Medicine Pathway. Prior to receiving her teaching degree from Mercer University, Sandra practiced dental hygiene for 7 years. Sandra completed her Educational Specialist Degree at Nova Southeastern University in the area of Curriculum, Instruction, and Administration. As a HOSA Advisor for 10 years, Sandra had the privilege of mentoring 3 state HOSA officers, years of State/National/International HOSA attendees and hundreds of HOSA members through leadership, teamwork and industry opportunities. She was awarded the HSTEA Teacher of the Year in 2015 and served as the HSTEA President in 2017-2019. She is very passionate about ministering to teachers and students with relevant and authentic learning opportunities.
